ABOUT KIDSCOIN

Kia ora,

We’re passionate about giving our kids the financial and digital skills they need to be successful in tomorrow’s world. We believe if we teach our kids good habits and mindsets towards money now, they’ll make better financial decisions in the future. This will benefit them, their families, and their communities.

As a professional tennis player I spent a lot of time travelling. Being on tour made me realise there’s a real divide between those who have money and those who don’t. I grew up watching my mum and aunties work three or four jobs to put food on the table. Seeing what they went through to provide for me and my whānau was really tough.

Unfortunately financial literacy is not formally taught in our schools. And many of our kids don’t have good role models at home. I wanted to find a way to teach kids about money, build their self-confidence, and ultimately give them a brighter financial future. As a response to this need, KidsCoin was born.

Since launching two years ago, KidsCoin is now used in classrooms across Auckland. What we love about KidsCoin is that it’s not just about money. It also teaches kids and their parents vital digital skills and creates community connections through partnerships. We made a conscious decision to include lessons in Te Reo Māori, which means everyone who uses KidsCoin is exposed to Māori language.

We’re determined to reach more kids, more families, and more communities with KidsCoin and we hope you’ll join us on our journey. Register for our whānau workshops today or send us a message to find out how you can get involved.

Noho ora mai,
